ProF rewards innovative care project with 10.000 €. Register now.

The PRoF consortium launches together with the University of Ghent and prof. dr. R. Peleman a call for candidates for the PRoF Awards 2016.

This competition rewards innovative projects in the broad domain of healthcare applications (eg: new insights regarding infrastructure, new healthcare models, innovating products and / or services, ...). It is important that the submitted innovations match with the PRoF values: comfort, respect for privacy, security, anti-loneliness, not stigmatizing solutions, intergenerational, respectful and flexibility.

The jury will select the top 3 innovating projects that will be invited to present their work during the international symposium on May 25th 2016 at Ghent University. During the symposium, a winner will be selected out of the 3 laureates who will receive the PRoF award (with a value of 10.000 €).

In 2015, there were 33 submissions for the PRoF award (http://www.prof-projects.com/2015-candidates.html). The award went to Mr. Smolders who represented WZC de Witte Meren in Mol. They developed an intuitive platform named “Cycling through your past” which allows nursing home inhabitants to break down the four walls of the nursing home and rediscover the outside world while cycling on a hometrainer.

Registration is possible until 1 March 2016. More info here: http://www.prof-projects.com/2016-call.html

PRoF is an European open innovation consortium that started in 2009. Haelvoet is proud to be part of this research platform that removes the partitions between different disciplines by means of open innovation. It brings more than 300 care professionals together to think about the evolution of care systems. The power of the consortium lays in its interdisciplinary approach where care organisations work together with research centres, universities and companies to create visions for the future. Each of these visions has been realized as a concept room, which can all be visited at the PRoF location in Poperinge – Belgium. (www.prof-projects.com)
