The residential care centre Edouard Remy, situated in the heart of Louvain, was in urgent need of a renovation. The building was erected in 1958 and was partially renovated in the nineties. The new building was officially opened in February 2015, and can accommodate 90 residents.
The new wing has 90 rooms with a surface of each 26 square metres. The rooms were furnished with our Olympia Care XLow beds (white matt varnish) and matching Quadra Care bedside tables and Litavo reading tables. These renovations have turned the residential care centre into a contemporary place to live with several facilities such a hairdresser’s, a small shop, a cafeteria,… An orchard blending in with a private garden for the residents has been planned as well. Thanks to this, an attractive combination of much greenery in an urban environment is obtained. The gem of the project is the eye-catching “yellow house” created by the artist Inge Van Gheel.
